BEENEY, William
2000 N. Vernon, age 67, died Sunday, February 2, 1964, at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Floral Chapel, Dodds-Dumanois Co. Funeral Home. Rev. Perry Thomas officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Mr. BEENEY will remain at the Dodds-Dumanois Co. Funeral Home. Death followed a long illness. He was born in Tilsonberg, Ontario, Canada, on May 14, 1896, and resided in Flint since 1924 coming from Canada. Mr. BEENEY was a Tool and Die Maker at AC Spark Plug Division for 35 years retiring in 1962. Surviving are: son, Jack BEENEY of Flint; daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lillian) HENRY of Flint; 9 grandchildren; ?a great-granddaughter; mother, Mrs. Harriet BEENEY of Toronto, Canada; 4 brothers, Edgar BEENEY of Georgetown, Canada, Clarence BEENEY of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, Robert BEENEY of Lake Simcoe, Canada; sister, Mrs. James PATON of Toronto, Canada; several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Francis YORKE of Flint.
ANDERSON, Martha L.
1736 New York Ave, age 87, died Saturday, February 13, 1969, at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church. Pastor Robert S. Nelson officiating. Burial in Alpena, Michigan. Mrs. ANDERSON will lie in state at the Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd. until 9 a.m. Monday then will be taken to the church for services. Friends are making contributions to the Salem Lutheran Memorial Fund. She was born in Alpena, Michigan, November 26, 1881, and had been a resident of Flint for the last 54 years. Mrs. ANDERSON was a member of Salem Lutheran Church for 50 years, the Naomi Unit of the L.C.W. and the Scatter Good Club. Surviving are: Daughter, Mrs. Martin (Hazel) VIK of Flint; 3 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters, sister, Mrs. Clara ANDERSON of Flint; brother, Martin JOHNSON of Sacramento, California; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
BEENEY, Jack
4468 W. Hill Rd, Swartz Creek, Michigan, age 48, died Monday, January 29, 1973 at McLaren General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, at Floral Chapel, Dodds-Dumanois Co. Rev. Milton Hoose officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Mr. BEENEY will remain at the Dodds-Dumanois Co. Funeral Home, where he may be seen after 7:00 p.m. this evening. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. BEENEY was born in Flint, Michigan, July 16, 1924 and had been a resident of Flint all his life. He was a veteran of World War II; Mr. BEENEY was a Dynomometer operator at Buick Motor Company for 30 years. Surviving are: 4 daughters, Mrs. Diane VAUGHN, Terry YAX, both of Flint, Mrs. Connie VANNEST of Duran and Miss Elizabeth BEENEY of Swartz Creek; 3 sons, James PLACE of FLint; Patrick and John BEENEY, both of Swartz Creek; 7 grandchildren; sister Mrs. Lillian HENRY of Flint.
VIK, Hazel M.
Of Flint, age 83, died Friday, August 28, 1987 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church 2610 Detroit St. Paston Jonathan Jacobs officiating. Interment, Flint Memorial Park. Mrs. VIK will lie in state at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd after 2 p.m. Sunday and until 9 a.m. Tuesday, then she will be taken to the church for services. The family will be at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church. Mrs. VIK was born in Alpena, Michigan, November 15, 1903. She had resided in Flint since 1915. She was united in marriage to Martin A. VIK, July 17, 1931. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. Surviving are: husband, Martin A. VIK; children, Edward TAYLOR and wife Nancy of Hardy, Arkansas, Leonard VIK and wife Cecilia of Lennon, Eleanor CADIEUX of Flint; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives.
BEENEY-CADIEUX, Eleanor
Age 66, died Thursday, March 25, 1993 at St. Joseph Hospital. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Monday, March 29, 1993 at the Brown Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. with Chaplain Hank Messing officiating. In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. BEENEY was born in Flint, on June 17, 1926 and had resided in the Flint area her entire life. Mrs. BEENEY owned and operated a foster care home in Grand Blanc, and was actively involved in the Michigan Adult Foster Care Association. Prior to that, she was employed as an operator for an area answering service (Bennett's Answering Service). Ellie was a dedicated friend as well as a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. Surviving are: father Martin VIK; 6 children, James PLACE, Terry PLACE, Connie THORNE and husband George, Patrick BEENEY, John BEENEY and Elizabeth BEENEY; 9 grandchildren, Tina, Tammy, Andrea, Adam, Scott, Susanne, Stephanie, Brandon and Blake; 2 brothers, Leonard VIK and wife Cecilia, Edward TAYLOR and wife Nancy; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
VIK, Martin A.
Of Flint, age 90, died Monday, July 3, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, 1995 at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd., with Rev. Leonard W. Gamber officiating. Interment will be made at Flint Memorial Park. Mr. VIK will lie in state at the funeral home after 12 Noon on Wednesday until the time of service. The family will be at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. VIK was born in Norway on July 3, 1905 and resided in Flint since 1927. He was a long time member of Salem Lutheran Church, former member of UAW Local #695. For over 42 years, he was employed by Chevrolet Manufacturing and retired in 1967. Surviving are: son, Leonard VIK and wife Cecilia of Lennon; 1 brother and 3 sisters in Norway; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-greatgrandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel M. VIK on August 28, 1987; step-daughter, Eleanor CADIEUX and step-son, Edward TAYLOR.
