Jeri D. Glidden
Richmond Hill - Jeri D. Glidden, 55, died Wednesday, April 10 at Hospice House/Hospice Savannah. Born in Dublin, she resided in Richmond Hill for the past 13 years and prior to that lived in Seattle, WA. She was of the Episcopal faith and the former owner of Gliddens Glass in Richmond Hill. Survivors: husband, Robert L. Glidden of Richmond Hill; daughter, Diana Glidden(Dee) Morris of Savannah; sons, Robert H. Glidden of Richmond Hill and Rick Zittrouer of Cummings, GA; step-father, Rodney Odom of Savannah and two grandchildren. Funeral: 6:00 p. m. Friday, April 12 in the Cox Chapel of Richmond Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will immediately follow the Funeral, until 7:00 p. m. Graveside Inurnment: 11:00 a. m. Gertrude Glidden
ROCHESTER � Gertrude Glidden, 86, formerly of 7 Watson Dr., died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Riverside Rest Home in Dover after a period of failing health.
She was born July 8, 1915, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of Thomas D. and Lucy Rose (Elie) Taylor. She has resided in this area most of her life. She owned and operated Glidden�s Tackle Shop on the Farmington Road with her husband for many years. Mrs. Glidden enjoyed gardening and will be lovingly missed by her family.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Glidden of Rochester and James Glidden of Missoula, Mont.; a daughter, Nancy Chisholm of Milton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen LaFortune of Dracut, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thurlo Glidden, who died in 1996, and two grandchildren.
Nancy E. Glidden
LAKEVILLE -- Nancy E. (Tripp) Glidden, 71, of Lakeville, died at home, Thursday, March 30, 2000, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Richard L. Glidden; they would have been married 49 years on April 1.
Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Raymond P. and Mildred E. (Willis) Tripp, she lived most of her life in the Middleboro and Lakeville areas. She was a member of the Central Congregational Church, Middleboro and had been a Sunday school teacher in the past.
Mrs. Glidden was a part-owner of A.R. Glidden and Son clothing store of Middleboro, Wareham and Lakeville. She was a graduate of Middleboro Memorial High School and LaSalle University.
She had been a den mother of Pack 14 Cub Scouts of Lakeville. She was a director of the Montgomery Home for the Aged, Middleboro.
Her main interest was her family.
Survivors include her widower; two sons, B. Kennison Glidden of Lakeville and Richard Douglas Glidden of Wareham; two brothers, Jerome P. Tripp of Middleboro and Raymond P. Tripp of Denver; a sister, Sarah Jane Duchaine of Lakeville; three grandchildren, Benjamin K. Glidden of Acushnet, Jessica E. Dahlstedt of Somerville and Abigail M. Glidden of Wareham; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Edward and Sabrina Dahlstedt, all of Somerville and Kaylee E. Glidden of Acushnet.
Her graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Central Cemetery, Centre Street, Middleboro.
Arrangements are by the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro.
GEORGE F. GLIDDEN
WAREHAM -- George F. Glidden, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Tobey Hospital after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Marjorie (Smith) Glidden.
Born in Belmont, he was the son of the late George H. and Carrie A. (Blackstone) Glidden.
Mr. Glidden was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Wareham, a Mason and a railroad conductor for more than 40 years.
During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and became a property manager.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Janice Lawrence of Bridgewater; a son, George H. Glidden of Wareham; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Doris Ripley.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center St.
Interment will be in Centre Cemetery.
Virginia P. Glidden
NEWTON � Virginia Phillips (Gammons) Glidden, 85, of 31 Bear Hill Road, died Saturday morning, March 2, 2002, at Exeter Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 60 years of James Parker Glidden.
She was born Oct. 23, 1916, in Stoneham, Mass., the daughter of Abner and Rose (Doucet) Gammons, and graduated from Reading (Mass.) High School.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, knitting and spending time with her family. Her two cats, Ruthie and C.C., were also an important part of her life.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, George Glidden of Portsmouth, Ruth Benjamin of Newton, Jane Sweetsir of Plaistow, Sara Glidden of Fairfield, Conn., and Amy Robinson of Kennebunk, Maine; her sister, Ruth Lawless of Rowayton, Conn.; 12 grandchildren; and 7½ great-grandsons.
GLIDDEN � Virginia P. (Gammons) Glidden, 85, of Newton, died March 2, 2002. Funeral services and burial in Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac, Mass., will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the residence of Ruth and Jim Benjamin, 34 Bear Hill Road, Newton. Hollis Glidden, 92
CHESTER Hollis Raymond Glidden, 92, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at Seneca District Hospital.
Born Aug. 21, 1908, in Marshalltown, Iowa, he had recently moved from Escondido.
He lived in California since 1966.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he participated in the Normandy invasion as a medic on the Omaha beachhead.
He won awards for his woodcarving skills. He enjoyed golf and fishing.
Mr. Glidden was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Marie Glidden and his son, Raymond.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Helen Glidden of Lake Almanor; brother Floyd Glidden of Sebastian, Fla.; sister Maxine Lampel of Marshalltown, Iowa; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life included military honors on Saturday, July 28, at the Chester Community United Methodist Church.

Glidden, Lorraine E.
Lorraine E. Glidden, 85, of 318 West Belleview, Winona, died Monday, March 5, 2001 at the Watkins Home.
Lorraine was born in Winona on September 14, 1915 to Albert E. and Florence Scherer Fischer. She is a lifetime Winona resident and a graduate of Winona Senior High School. She married Douglas J. Glidden on April 27, 1933. He died March 15, 1980.
Lorraine was a good mother, wife and homemaker who enjoyed her gardening where she was proud of her strawberries and flowers. She also enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by a son, James (Carole) Glidden of Fridley, Minn.; two daughters, Margaret Glidden of Winona and Mary (Peter) Hengel of Coon Rapids, Minn.; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Rumstick and Florence Engler, both of Winona; and a half-sister, Alberta (Paul) Smith of Athens, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Elmer, and her stepmother, Hattie Bearman Fischer.
A Mass of Christian Celebration was offered Friday, March 9, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with Rev. John M. Sauer officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Steven and Jason Hegarty, Roger Anderson, Michael Chorzempa, Scott Yokobosky and James Hengel.
Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services assisted the family with the arrangements.
Anna M. Glidden
Anna M. Glidden died Jan. 17, 1998 in Stanford. A native of Wisconsin, she was 81.
Mrs. Glidden was the widow of Joseph Glidden of Palo Alto. She is survived by two children, Thomas Smith of Palo Alto and Eugene Smith of San Leandro.
A graveside service was held Jan. 22 at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.
