home. He was retired from Union Carbide after 29 years of service. He is

JOHN L. BACK, 49, of Sanford, Florida, died Thursday, March 4 as the result of
a motorcycle accident. He was a manager for AT&T and a member of the
Association of Data Processing Professionals and a veteran of the National
Guard. He was preceded in death by father, John Back and grandparents, Alberta
Olinger and J.R. "Roy" Johnson. Survivors include mother, Louise Johnson
Withers of Lake Mary, Florida; wife, Sheila.

VINA BULLOCK, 79, of Caryville, died Thursday, March 18 at LaFollette Nursing
Home. She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Earl Bullock; parents,

JESSIE LEE CAMPBELL, 86, of White Oak, died Friday, March 19 at Methodist
Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a veteran of WWII, and a retired coal
miner. He was preceded in death by parents, Sherman and Susan Walden Campbell.
He is survived by wife, Dora Goins Campbell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 23 at Little White Oak Baptist

HENRY HAYNES, 75, of LaFollette, died Sunday, March 21 at LaFollette Medical
Center. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the New York City Highway
Department. He was preceded in death by wife, Rose Ella Haynes. Funeral

ROSA J. HUSTON, 87, of LaFollette, died Saturday, March 20 at Briarcliff
Health Care Center in Oak Ridge. She was former owner and operator of Hutson's
Food Market with her husband until his death in 1965. She continued to operate
the business until 1991. She was preceded in death by husband, Browder FaDrew
Hutson.  Funeral services were held Monday, March 22 at Walters Funeral Home

KATIE MARIE LAWSON, 85, of Jellico, died Sunday, March 21 at Jellico Community
Hospital.

MONIKA DENISE MEADOWS, 33, of Dayton, Tennessee died Tuesday, March 16 at Rhea

GEORGIA MILLER, 69, of LaFollette, died Monday, March 22 at Methodist Medical

ULIS SAMUEL PRATER, 79, of LaFollette, died Monday, March 22 at Lake City
Health Care Center. He had been in the flower business for over 30 years. He
was owner and operator of Francis Gardens and LaFollette Florist. He was
preceded in death by parents, Joe and Nancy Prater of LaFollette. Funeral

JERRY QUEENER, 60, of Medford, died Sunday, March 21. He was a retiree of
Vinylex Corporation where he worked for 35 years. He was preceded in death by
father, Ira D. Queener. Survivors include wife, Sandra Josephine Long Queener;

Maryland, and a US Army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by parents,

CHESTER RAYMOND YOUNG, Sr., 78, of Williamsburg, Kentucky, died Wednesday,
March 17 at his home. He and his wife served with the Southern Baptist Foreign
Mission Board in the Hawaiian Islands from 1949-64. He taught American History
at Cumberland College until his retirement in 1985 and was the author of three
books. He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Alexander and Girtie May
Young. Survivors include wife, Florence Alice Baird Young. Funeral services

JACK DUNCAN, of Knoxville, formerly of Anderson County, died Sunday, April 4.
He was a member of Masonic Crystal Lodge for more than 50 years in
Briceville. He retired from Union Carbide's K-25 Plant in 1981 where he was
employed for 31 years. He is survived by wife, Helen. Graveside services will

David W. Hull and Rev. Dixie Petrey officiating.

JAMES KENNETH HEATHERLY, Sr., 79, of Ross, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 31 at
his residence. He attended school in the LaFollette area. He served in the
United States Air Corp and was employed at Hamilton Foundry, the Estate Stove
Co., General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Fairfield, and Huffman's Open Air
Market in Ross. He was a member of UAW Local Union #647 and is a life member
of AMVETS.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie Brooks Heatherly and Bertha
McCullah Heatherly. Survivors include wife, Irene Heatherly. Funeral services

JAMES ALLAN JONES, 69, of Jacksboro, died Saturday, April 17 at his home. He
was a veteran of the US Navy. He completed US Naval Training in Great Lakes,
Illinois and was a graduate of Hospital Corps and Massachusetts College of
Pharmacy. He was a chemist for the Federal Food and Drug Administration for
28 years. He was a former treasurer for Campbell County Library Board, a
member of the Friends of Jacksboro Library, and active in Save Our Cumberland
Mountains. He was also a private Airline Pilot.  He was preceded in death by
parents, James E. Jr. and Ruth M. Hardy Jones. Funeral services were held
Monday, April 19 at Martin Funeral Home with Father Greg Neuzil officiating.

CLIFFORD CHARLES KOHLMEYER, 90, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Leesburg, Florida,
died Friday, April 9 at his home. He was retired after 44 years of employment
from Cincinnati Bell Telephone and was a veteran of WWII. Mr. Kohlmeyer was a
volunteer at a local nursing home five days a week. He was preceded in death
by parents, Edward and Louise Kohlmeyer; first wife, Helen Lamping Kohlmeyer.
Survivors include wife, Ruth Emmons Kohlmeyer of Cincinnati. Interment was
held at Morrow Cemetery in Morrow, Ohio. John Evans Funeral Home of
Cincinnati, Ohio in charge of arrangements. The family has requested that
memorials for Mr. Kohlmeyer be sent to the Building Fund, First Baptist
Church, LaFollette, TN.

JAMES R. PARTIN, 40, of Chesterland, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 14 in
Chesterland.
He is survived by wife, Margaret A. Partin. Funeral services were held
Monday, April 19 at Harp Funeral Home with Father Bob Damron officiating.
Interment followed in Douglas Cemetery.

MADELINE CARTER REED, 80, of Pleasant View, Kentucky, died Monday, April 19
at her family residence. She was preceded in death by parents, General and
Bertha Carter. Survivors include husband, George R. Reed. Funeral services
will be held Thursday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at Cox & Son Funeral Home in
Jellico with Rev. Billy Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Reed
Cemetery.

LESTER R. RIDENOUR, 85, of LaFollette, died Wednesday, April 14 at LaFollette
Medical Center. He retired from International Harvester, was a hospital
volunteer, and a veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charles Alex and Ida Mae Walker Ridenour.
 Survivors include wife, Pernie Esta Cooper Ridenour.  Funeral services were
held Saturday, April 17 at Demory Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Siler, Rev.
Everett Cooper, and Rev. Conley Shepherd officiating. Interment followed in

BRENDA GAIL TAYLOR WELCH, 43, of South Lebanon, Ohio, formerly of Jellico,
died April 14.
She is survived by husband, Stan Welch; parents, George and Alene Taylor.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17 at Tufts Schildmeyer Family
Funeral Home in Loveland, Ohio. Graveside services were held Monday, April 19
in Peabody Cemetery in Jellico.

GAIL WILSON, 58, of Mason, Ohio, formerly of Caryville, died Thursday, April
15. He was a self-employed lifelong carpenter.  He was preceded in death by
wife, Paula; father, Ed Wilson of Caryville. Funeral services were held
Saturday, April 17 at Hodapp Funeral Home in Mason, Ohio with Rev. Glen
Davidson officiating. Interment followed in Union Cemetery, Loveland, Ohio.

MILDRED WILSON, 79, of Fratersville, Tennessee, died Thursday, April 15 at
Lake City Health Car Center. She was preceded in death by husband, Henderson
"Hence" Wilson; parents, John and Versulia Murray. Funeral services were held
Sunday, April 18 at Cox-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Warner Hawkins
officiating. Interment followed in Leach Cemetery in Lake City.

MARY RUTH BOLTON, 61, of Jacksboro, died Wednesday, April 21 at LaFollette
Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by parents, Ewell and Minerva Crabtree. Survivors
include husband, Dennis Bolton. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 24
at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Heatherly and Rev. Melvin Brandenburg
officiating. Interment followed in Campbell Memorial Gardens.

JACK WILLIAM BRIMM, 71, of Jellico, died Monday, April 19 at Jellico
Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22 at Harp Funeral Home with Rev.
Jerry Shelton officiating. Interment followed in Watts Creek Cemetery.
Military honors were conducted by Campbell County Honor Guard.

THOMAS DAGLEY, 94, of LaFollette, died April 20 at Lake City Health Care
Center. He was preceded in death by wife, Rena Mae Dagley; parents, Rev.
Billy and Cordie Hayes Dagley. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22
at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. J.T. Asbury and Bro. Jerry Dagley
officiating. Interment followed Friday in Grantsboro Cemetery.

MARGARET L. DAVIS, 79, of Lake City, died Tuesday, April 20 at Methodist
Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by parents, James and
Gertie Gadd; former husband, James Earl Phipps. Survivors include husband,

NETTIE AROLA DAVIS, 70, of LaFollette, died Monday, April 21 at LaFollette
Medical Center. She was preceded in death by husband, John Davis; parents,

PEGGY A. TILLER DAY, 48, of Dayton, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 20 at her
residence. She was preceded in death by parents, Ross Tiller and Roxis

GARY DOPLE, 38, of South 8th Street, died Sunday, April 25 at LaFollette
Medical Center. He is survived by wife, Brenda Dople of LaFollette. Funeral

MARY RACHAEL CLAIBORNE DUNCAN, 79, died Monday, April 26 at her family
residence in Whiteland, Indiana. She was a charter member and past Matron
Jubilee of Chapter OES #602. She was co-owner of Duncan Market in Whiteland
with her husband for 36 years. She was preceded in death by parents, William
Taylor and Helen Childress Claiborne. Funeral services are being held
Thursday, April 29 at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin, Indiana with
Rev. Mike Seaney officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory

ELLA HATMAKER died Tuesday, April 27 at LaFollette Medical Center. She was
preceded in death by husband, Harvey H. Hatmaker Graveside services will be
held Thursday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at Murrayville Cemetery. Funeral services
were held Wednesday, April 28 at Roach Mortuary with Paul Cordell and Rev.
Howard Tapp officiating.

LONZA "Lonzo" MCKAMEY, 72, of Caryville, died Saturday, April 24 at his home.
He sang with the Wright Family for 34 years. He was also a member of
Caryville Masonic Lodge #665 F&AM and a retired coal miner.
He was preceded in death by parents, Abe and Susie Byrge McKamey. Survivors
include wife, Lizzie McGhee McKamey  Funeral services were held Wednesday,
April 28 at Beech Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Phillips and Rev. Virgil

Rev. ALBERT DOYLE MASSENGILL, Sr., 75, of Caryville, died Wednesday, April 21
at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. He served as an evangelist for 40 years
and was a veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by parents, William F.
and Maggie Cooper Massengill. Survivors include wife, Mildred Massengill.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 24 at Fundamental Baptist Church
with Rev. Larry Russell, Rev. Bill Hutson, and Rev. Terry Sweat officiating.

LAWRENCE LUSTER OSBORNE, 82, of Jellico, died Friday, April 23 at Jellico
Community Hospital.
He was preceded in death by father, Walter Osborne; mother, Katie Jones
Osborne; first wife, Ruby Osborne; second wife, Rosette Osborne. Funeral
services were held Monday, April 26 at Harp Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin
Douglas officiating. Interment followed in Osborne Family Cemetery at Roses
Creek.

M.H. "Muddy" SCOTT, 81, of Longwood, Florida, formerly of LaFollette, died
Tuesday, April 27. He was a former member of LaFollette City Council. He was
also a member of LaFollette Masonic Lodge #623 F&AM and a Shriner. He was a
retired life insurance agent. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April
29 at Cross Funeral Home with Rev. James Hall officiating. The family will
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow
Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

CHINA EDNA MCNEELY TIDWELL, 86, of LaFollette, died Saturday, April 24 at Oak
Ridge Methodist Medical Center. She was preceded in death by husband, Anell
Adam Tidwell. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 25 at Martin Funeral
Home with Dr. Charles Parker and Rev. John L. Shoun officiating. Interment
followed Monday in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
